Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are an ideal source of cells for tissue regeneration. As a progenitor cells of connective tissues, they play an important role in building and maintaining healthy connective tissues throughout our body. With their multipotency potential, they possess the ability to differentiate into different cell types such as osteoblasts (bone cells), chondrocytes (cartilage cells), adipocytes (fat cells).

MSC-based therapy is gaining ground as a future medicine. This will require early passage MSCs, which are more functional with delay onset of senescence. Producing safe and good quality MSCs is important to meet this need and to do so has its challenges.
